The Last Fire is a video sculpture designed in an abstract form that bears a striking resemblance to a campfire. The piece comprises of tall LED screens that display video images of fire and is encased in mirrored stainless steel beams. It is worth noting that the mastery of fire has granted human beings the ability to cook and harvest technology. However, an equally important but non-pragmatic aspect of fire lies in its ability to evoke storytelling. In conceptualizing this piece, the artist envisions tribe members gathering around the fire, sharing their stories, and constructing spiritual foundations of communities. The glimmering light of the fire contains infinite images of our imagination that inspire us throughout time.
