<불멸의 유전자>/ "Immortal Gene", Multimedia Installation, 2020

The multimedia installation examines the meaning of death and family in the context of a Confuscious culture. Park worked closely with his mother, producing leather collages, and photographing her portraits. Collages made from animal skin visualize biological aspects of the family that are often overshadowed by psychological drama or cultural meaning of the family. The horizontal and vertical forms of collages made from animal skin, laid in clear cases referring to vocabularies of fashion. The work suggests imaginations of life from a point of view from death. reminding us that from a viewpoint of the gene, our lives and bodies are merely a container of our genes that will survive even after we reach death.

*The project consists of textile, sculpture and photography.
